At Kestrel Mead, we aim to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes children need to manage their lives now and in the future. In a safe environment, children will have the opportunities to explore and challenge a range of values, attitudes, beliefs, rights and responsibilities.
We encourage children to stay healthy, make responsible choices and prepare them for life in Britain. We aim to provide children with the information needed to develop healthy relationships of all kinds.
Within PSCHE we follow the Jigsaw scheme of work.
There are 6 units which are covered from EYFS to Year 6;
– Being me in my world
– Celebrating Difference
– Dreams and Goals
– Healthy Me
– Relationships
– Changing Me
PSCHE is taught by HLTAs weekly and is recorded in floor books, which demonstrate a wide range of children’s knowledge. Each child has an opportunity to record their work in the floor book and share their work with the class throughout the year.
